Question
How Do We Create Tax Savings?
We build a tax plan around your situation, considering your entity structure, income and investment activity, timing, depreciation, retirement accounts, and charitable giving. The right combination depends on your goals and how these decisions affect one another.

Question
How is Tax Planning Different from Tax Preparation?
Tax preparation reports what already happened and determines what you owe. Tax planning looks ahead at decisions you can make now to reduce taxes in the current and future years, leaving more to reinvest toward your goals.

Question
What if I Don’t Have the Capital to Invest Into These Strategies?
We first look at whether money you already spend can be redirected toward tax saving strategies. For W-2 earners, once a suitable plan is in place, adjusting paycheck withholding to reflect expected tax savings may free up cash to help fund it.

Question
How is Prosperl different from a real estate tax strategist?
We combine real estate tax planning, such as cost segregation, 1031 exchanges, and capital gains planning, with other strategies for high income earners. When real estate alone does not address your tax needs, we may also consider tax credits, tax advantaged investments, charitable giving structures, and entity planning.

Question
Is tax preparation included in planning fees?
No. Tax preparation is billed separately unless your agreement specifically includes the returns and tax years to be prepared. We bill 50% to start the return and the remaining 50% after completion, with any adjustments for changes in the scope of work.

Question
Will We Need You for Tax Preparation?
It depends on your filing needs and timing. We recommend using Prosperl once our strategies have been implemented so they are reported correctly. If your current CPA has already started your return or you join us late in filing season, you may finish with them and transition the following year.
